June 2024 Meeting Minutes
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
June 3, 2024
The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 6:01pm.
Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Tip Piper, Andy Plessel and Dylan Brandt
Absent: None
Plessel made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for April 22, 2024, payment of bills totaling $23,255.06 and financial reports, Piper seconded
Ayes- 5 Nays- 0 Motion Carried
OLD BUSINESS
Certified Water and Sewer Operator – Progress Update: Tip Piper will be getting education information for the council.
Block Leaders Updated Contacts: List was reviewed, letters will be sent to those listed as leaders with updated information.
ICAP Grant: Discussed using the Grant to purchase new Timer for the Weather Siren.
Sewer Riser Repair Bids or Alternate Method: No updates, tabled till next month.
NEW BUSINESS
Summer Wilson Chicken Permit: Motion by Stucki, seconded by Plessel to approve Permit.
Ayes- 5 Nays- 0 Motion Carried
Garbage Rate Increase: Per city Ordinance, discussed raising rates for the next year. Council determined it was not needed at this time.
Ball Diamond Discussion: Council discussed and voted on removing the ballpark gravel and grassing the area over for the field located by the new City Sign due to lack of use and proximity to the new sign. Rout motioned, Piper seconded.

Road Work Bid: Council discussed Bid submitted by Blacktop Services for doing road repair. Piper made the motion to accept the bid, Plessel seconded.

Building Permit – 246 Howard: Plessel made the motion to approve the permit for a privacy fence at the residence per city ordinance, Piper seconded.
Ayes- 5 Nays- 0 Motion Carried
Gravel in Alley Ways: It was discussed and determined by the council that no gravel repair is required for the coming year.
Open for Discussion: Mosquito spraying for the City was discussed and agreed upon for this month, as well as an additional spraying before the Quasi celebration in July.
Also, brought to the councils attention that the cost for the Hancock County Sheriff to patrol the City may be increasing.
Finally, discussion was made in regards to kids under 14 riding 4-wheelers and mini bikes on City streets.
