REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

February 3, 2025

 

The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.

 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 6:00pm.

 Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Tip Piper, Andrew Plessel and Dylan Brandt (6:07 arrival)

 Absent: NONE

 Plessel made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for January 6, 2025, payment of bills totaling $15,844.08 and financial reports, Stucki seconded

 Ayes- 4 (Brandt Absent)         Nays- 0            Motion Carried

  

OLD BUSINESS

 

Hazard Mitigation Meeting – Andy Buffington: Reviewed Past Hazard Mitigation Projects and the status of these projects.  Discussed potential future projects.  Ranked Risk factors for Mitigation Reporting.

Sewer Riser Repair Method Research: Nothing new, removing from future Agenda’s for now.

ICAP Grant Application for 2025 - Discussion: Discussed possible uses, including Siren Automation Hardware, City Generator Install and pickup cover for city pickup truck.  Will continue discussions in future meetings.

City Budget Planning Session: Discussed the City Budget proposals for the 2025-26 Fiscal Year.

Resolution 25-3 – Emergency Fund Transfer to General Fund: The council discussed the Resolution and agreed the funds should be transferred out of the Emergency Fund and into the General Fund.  Piper made the motion, Rout seconded.  Council also discussed the cities current Bank CDs.

Nelson Septic Service Contract Proposal:  Council Reviewed and Discussed the proposed contract by Nelson Septic.  Stucki made the motion to accept the contract, Piper seconded.

Plessel left meeting due to work obligations at 7:10pm

 Set Tax Levy Hearing Date for Monday, April 7: Rout made the motion to set the public hearing date, Brandt seconded.

 Ayes- 4 (Plessel Absent)          Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 Community Center Bingo Night Liquor License Pre-Approval: Stucki made the motion to approve the license for the event scheduled at the community center on March 29, Piper seconded.

Ayes- 4 (Plessel Absent)          Nays- 0            Motion Carried

Mowing Bid Request Review for Posting: Council reviewed and discussed the proposed mowing bid form for posting, and decided to also put an ad in the Garner Leader seeking mowing bids for the City Parks and properties.

Clerkbooks Software Package Purchase and Install Contract: Piper made the motion to move forward with the software purchase and service contract, Rout seconded.

July Fireworks: Council discussed Fireworks Permit approval and payment of $700 for Fireworks display.  Piper made motion to approve both, Stucki seconded.

 Adjournment: Piper made motion to adjourn at 7:35 PM, Rout seconded
