REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

March 3, 2025

 

The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.

 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 6:01pm.

 Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Andrew Plessel and Dylan Brandt (6:15 arrival)

 Absent: Tip Piper

 

Plessel made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for February 3, 2025, payment of bills totaling $28,589.07 and financial reports, Stucki seconded

Ayes- 3 (Brandt and Piper Absent)     Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

City Budget Planning Session: Reviewed the City Budget proposals for the 2025-26 Fiscal Year.

 

Certified Water Operator – Certification Progress Update: Paul has completed 50% of required schooling to maintain certificate.

 

ICAP Grant Application for 2025 - Discussion: Discussed possible uses, including Siren Automation Hardware, City Generator Install and pickup cover for city pickup truck.  Also added discussions for adding Cameras at the ball diamond as a good use of funds.

 

 

             NEW BUSINESS

 

Waste Management Contract – Cancel Current Contract and put Garbage Service out to bid: The Motion was made by Brandt to cancel the current Waste Management contract, Plessel 2nd.

 Ayes- 4 (Piper Absent) Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

City Wide Cleanup Date and Details: Dates for the Cleanup where set to Friday, April 25 thru Sunday, April 27 noon.  Buns will get dumpster pricing from Midwest for a 40 yard dumpster.

 

Street Maintence and Repair: Council discussed the various repair methods, and the damage that has already occurred on the blacktop laid last summer.  Brandt will look into our repair options and discuss at next month’s meeting.

 

Fire Hydrant Replacement: Council discussed the possibility of the city replacing the Hydrant at the north end of Main Street in the event that Gold Eagle Coop proceeds with adding a water line in a future project at that location.  Talked about the current hydrants in town, and the fact that they are no longer manufactured and parts are not available.

 

Food Truck Vendor Fees Waived for Summer Season: Motion was made by Stucki to wave the $25 fee for those food trucks lined up by the Community Center to come to Woden through the summer months, Rout seconded.
