REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
February 6, 2024
The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, February 6, 2024 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 6:00pm.
Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Andy Plessel, Tip Piper and Dylan Brandt (arrived 6:20)
Absent: None
Piper made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for January 8, 2024, payment of bills totaling $30,293.83 and financial reports, Rout seconded
Ayes- 4 (Brandt Absent) Nays- 0 Motion Carried
OLD BUSINESS
City Burn Site - Update: No further information gathered, tabled till next month.
Certified Water and Sewer Operator – Progress Update: No further progress, tabled till next month.
Midwest Waste – Garbage Proposal for City: Did not take place due to no show by Midwest Rep.
Waste Management Contract – New Proposal: Discussed the contract that Waste Management sent, the City Council would like a revised Proposal with larger than 32 gallon garbage cans to help meet the city residences current needs.
City Budget Planning Session: The second round of Budget Planning for fiscal year 2024-2025 was discussed by the Council.
NEW BUSINESS
Bode Building Update: Council reviewed email sent explaining updates starting and ongoing to Bode building on Main
Quasi Liability Insurance Discussion: Discussed the potential need for liability insurance for events. Piper looking into contracting companies that carry their own insurance.
Set Property Tax Levy Hearing Date: Piper made the motion to set the Tax Levy Hearing Date for Monday, April 1st 2024. Rout seconded.

July Fireworks: Discussed the City Portion of the Fireworks Display Budget for upcoming Quasi Event.
Stucki made the motion to fund $1000, Piper seconded.

Open for Discussion: Stucki asked for any update on the 2nd Chances building on Main. No updates by Council Members.
Stucki Asked about excessive Plowing Hours for the Month of January. Council Discussed.
Adjournment: Plessel made motion to adjourn at 7:13 PM, Rout seconded
