REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
March 4, 2024
The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 5:55pm.
Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Andy Plessel, and Dylan Brandt (arrived 6:43)
Absent: Tip Piper
Rout made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for February 6, 2024, payment of bills totaling $26,567.20 and financial reports, Plessel seconded

OLD BUSINESS
City Burn Site - Update: No further information gathered, tabled till next month.
Certified Water and Sewer Operator – Progress Update: No further progress, tabled till next month.
Midwest Waste – Garbage Proposal for City: Discussed possibility for switching to Midwest from Waste Management when WM contract expires and what that would look like for the city.
Waste Management Contract – Updated Proposal: Council decided to let the current contract run thru its end date, then decide if a change is needed at that point due to raising costs of service with Waste Management.
NEW BUSINESS
City Wide Cleanup: Dates set for City Wide Cleanup, to be held Friday, April 19th thru Sunday, April 21 with all items for pickup to be curbside no later than NOON on Sunday.
Garbage Rate Increase: Discussed the cities current deficit with garbage fees collected versus fees paid to Waste Management and was determined for rates to be increased to $22 per month from the current $18 per month, with the potential for a 5% increase each year by vote of the City Council. Motion made by Stucki to move forward with Rate Increase Ordinance, seconded by Plessel.

Vegas Night Liquor License Approval: Brandt made the Motion to Approve, Rout seconded.
Ayes- 4 Nays- 0 Motion Carried
Lucky Wife Liquor License Approval for Quasi: Stucki made the Motion to Approve, Brandt seconded.
Ayes- 4 Nays- 0 Motion Carried
Set May Council Meeting Date for April 22nd: Discussed setting the May meeting Date to April 22nd to accommodate Budget Approval Hearing. Motion by Plessel, seconded by Rout.
Ayes- 4 Nays- 0 Motion Carried
Set Public Hearing for Budget Approval: Tabled till next meeting, cannot be set until after Proposed Property Tax hearing is finished.
Open for Discussion: Discussed getting mowing bids for the City properties as the weather has been extremely fair this winter. Bids are due no later than April 22nd for review by Council.
Adjournment: Plessel made motion to adjourn at 7:13 PM, Rout seconded
