REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
December 11, 2023
The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 5:58pm.
Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Andy Plessel and Dylan Brandt (arrived 6:24)
Absent: Tip Piper
Stucki made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for November 6, 2023, payment of bills totaling $25,053.73 and financial reports, Plessel seconded
Ayes- 3 (Brandt not yet arrived) Nays- 0 Motion Carried
OLD BUSINESS
City Ballpark Usage: Tabled to wait for Brandt and Piper
City Burn Site - Update: No further information gathered, tabled till next month.
Certified Water and Sewer Operator – Progress Update: No further progress, tabled till next month.
NEW BUSINESS
Oath of Office – Elected Officials: Piper Absent, was not performed.
ICAP Recommendations: Discussed Recommendations for Parks. Pea Rock will be added where needed.
2023 CGA Utility Rate Study: Discussed our water and sewer rates versus state median and towns in our vicinity according to the report, determined our current rates are fair.
Alliant Energy Rate Increase: Discussed rate increase, was determined increase was not out of line.
January Meeting Date: Date of January meeting set to Monday, Jan. 8th due to holiday.
Building Permit for 114 Main: Motion by Plessel to approve new shed on property, 2nd by Stucki

Open for Discussion:
Discussed meeting with Midwest Waste at next meeting for Garbage Rates discussion.
Discussed Water Tower Check Valve issue and replacement options. Council approved having valve fixed by either Schumaker or Arnies, whichever company can complete the work fastest due to weather conditions being a factor. Motion made by Brandt, 2nd by Plessel.
