August 2025 Meeting Minutes

REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

August 4, 2025

 

The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 6:00pm, Council Chambers.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 6:02pm.

Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Andrew Plessel, Tip Piper and Dylan Brandt

Absent: None

Plessel made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for July 7, 2025, payment of bills totaling $28,062.09 and financial reports, Brandt seconded

 Ayes- 5           Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

 

OLD BUSINESS

 

Road Work Discussions:  Discussed Rock/Gravel Bunker setup on Main Street lot next to shed.  Brandt shared the layout that was discussed over the weekend and the council agreed with moving forward as planned.

 

Midwest Waste Contract Review: The contract was discussed by the council, and deemed acceptable.  We will request the cancellation clause be changed to 90 days versus the current 60 days.

 

Water and Drain Tile Issues Affecting Residences South of the Co-op – Follow Up: Earl Hill, City Attorney, is looking for an Engineer to access the Co-op lands that were changed by filling in the drainage ditch.

 

Discussed the lands usage for the Solar Array project and it was deemed by the council the Building Permit for the project should be revoked until the drainage problems caused by the land changes are addressed.  Plessel made the motion to pull the permit, Stucki seconded.

Byron Springer – 733 Way Ave. Building Permit: Stucki made the motion to approve the permit, Piper Seconded

Street Finance Report: Report was presented and discussed with the council.

 

Council Elections: Discussed upcoming Election Process.

 

Open for discussion:

 

Discussed maintenance issues with the Park Bathrooms.  City Workers will be asked to take care of them

 

Adjournment: Piper made motion to adjourn at 7:15 PM, Rout seconded
