REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING

April 1, 2024

 

The City Council of the City of Woden met in regular session on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 6:15pm, Council Chambers.

 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Paul Buns at 6:15pm.

 Council members present were: Bill Rout, Jeff Stucki, Andy Plessel, Tip Piper and Dylan Brandt

Absent: NONE

Rout made the motion to approve the agenda, minutes written for March 4, 2024, payment of bills totaling $14,620.53 and financial reports, Piper seconded

OLD BUSINESS

City Burn Site - Update: No further progress, removing from further considerations

Certified Water and Sewer Operator – Progress Update:  No further progress, tabled till next month.

Ordinance 230 – Garbage Rate Increase: Piper made motion to Adopt, Rout 2nd.

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

Plessel proposed attached Resolution to expedite Ordinance 230, 2nd by Brandt

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

Piper then called for motion to adopt Ordinance 230

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 City Wide Cleanup: Final approval for cleanup for dates April 19 to April 21.

  

NEW BUSINESS

Set Public Hearing, 2024-2025 Budget for April 22 Council Meeting: Motion to set Date by Plessel, 2nd by Rout

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

Set Public Hearing, 2023-2024 Budget Amendments for April 22 Council Meeting: Discussed making the following Amendments to the 23-24 Budget.  Library to add $6,000, Sewer Budget increase of $4,000 and Water Increase of $12,000 Motion by Plessel, 2nd by Rout

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

Also discussed Emergency Electrical work to be performed by Jake Ingalls Electric, Motion by Plessel to proceed, 2nd by Rout

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

Property at 331 Way Ave.: Council discussed its willingness to forgive monies owed to the city if property is razed by owners, lot levelled and prepared for sale.

 

Building Permit 150 Fox Ave: Piper made the motion to accept the submitted permit, Rout 2nd.

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

Preapprove Quasi Celebration Liquor License: Motion by Stucki, seconded by Piper.

Ayes- 5            Nays- 0            Motion Carried

 

Open for Discussion: Discussed updating Block Leader list and how to handle future water tower emergency notifications to the citizens of Woden.

 

Adjournment: Plessel made motion to adjourn at 7:35 PM, Piper seconded
